Bingo Rules
The great attraction of bingo is the sheer simplicity of the basic rules. Keno is more or less the same game, and if you have ever played a lottery then you should have no problem grasping the basic idea of Bingo and Keno. If you don't want to wade through pages of instructions, but instead want a really simple game that is fun to play, then join the tens of thousands of players who regularly play bingo online. You will be given a card with several random numbers on it. In the US this is usually a 5 x 5 grid, with a blank space in the middle. At most online sites you can change the card you are given if the numbers don't suit you - a lot of players prefer to play their "lucky numbers". The bingo caller then draws numbers at random, and if one of the numbers drawn matches a number on your bingo card you cross it off. If you match a certain number of numbers, either horizontally or vertically across your card, you win a prize. The only skill involved is crossing the numbers off more quickly than the other players (if you are playing multi-player bingo). You can decide to play just for fun, or to play for real money if you want the chance to win a prize. Costs per bingo card range from $0.01 to up to $50, and of course the jackpot rises in line with the price you pay for a card. You can increase your chance of winning by buying several cards at a time. That, in a nutshell, is all there is to bingo - but it is much, much more fun than it sounds. New versions of the game are adding new features all the time, and there are now some really quite complicated versions which add extra excitement for those who know their way around the basic game. Bingo is also a very sociable game, and players often chat with one another as they play. It is as much an excuse to get together for fun and gossip as it is a serious gambling game - but that doesn't mean you can't win big. Jackpots of up to $100,000 are not unknown!
