Betfair: Timeform Daily: Tuesday June 23, 3:45, Beverley

Today’s update from Betfair:

Timeform run the rule over the field for the Siemens Chemical Solutions Handicap…

It could be that two or three will take each other on for the lead and compromise their chances as a consequence. Chief amongst those likely to be ready to pounce at the business end is recent Haydock winner Hippolytus. Traphalgar could stay on into a place, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see course-specialist Riley Boys figure more prominently again back at his optimum trip.

Snowed Under is a ten furlong specialist who has gained all his nine wins at Leicester and Beverley. He is now just 1 lb higher for his latest success, but was allowed to dominate that day and unsure to be able to do that here.

Traphalgar has been lightly raced since notching a polytrack hat-trick in 2007. He has put in respectable efforts on his last two starts, proving stamina for this trip on his latest, and is edging back down the weights.

Shady Gloom’s best effort this year came when a close second at Doncaster. He was unable to dictate, as he had there, last time and chances are he won’t be able to here, either. Likely to find one or two better treated.

Riley Boys is a Beverley specialist who is yet to fire this year, but he offered more last time and is back to his best trip now. Only 1 lb higher than for his latest success here last July.

We’re Delighted is still to add to his one success, recorded on his reappearance last year, and has been beaten a few times from the same mark since. Never a threat the last two starts and is still to prove he stays this far.

Hippolytus was off the mark upped to this trip at Haydock on Saturday and has an obvious chance of a quick follow up with a promising apprentice in the plate.

Smarterthanuthink made all at Hamilton last June but has been rather in and out since. He was taken on for the lead on his reappearance and a similar scenario is likely here, with a visor on for first time.

Umverti put in an improved performance at this trip when scoring at Pontefract last month. She pulled too hard here last time and likely the stronger pace will help but looks up against it at the weights.
