Today’s update from Betfair:

Timeform run the rule over the field for the Etihad Airways Falmouth Stakes…

Goldikova needs to put a below-par reappearance run on soft ground behind her, but is a bona fide Group One filly and should prove too strong for Rainbow View if back to something like her best. Heaven Sent may fare best of the rest.

Cosmopolitan has been first past the post on three of her four starts, doing no more than necessary when winning a course-and-distance handicap off a mark of 84 recently. She is capable of better still, but this is altogether tougher.

Eva’s Request is a smart performer. She was better than ever when winning the Group Three Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom, but was behind Spacious and Heaven Sent at Ascot last time and has her work cut out just to reverse that form.

Goldikova is a top-class performer with three Group One victories to her name in 2008, landing the Breeders’ Cup Mile on her final start. It was a disappointing return on soft ground in May, but she will be tough to beat if back to her best here.

Heaven Sent repeated a previous success in a Group Three event on the Rowley Mile in May. She was only fended off late on when second to Spacious in a Group Two at Ascot last time, but has come up short on three previous attempts at this level.

San Sicharia has put in creditable efforts on both starts since landing a Group Three at Lingfield in May on her first run for a new stable, but she needs to raise her game considerably to get involved here.

Spacious was better than ever when making all to repel Heaven Sent and Eva’s Request in a Group Two at Royal Ascot last month. She was allowed a soft lead there, though, and it is unlikely this will be as straightforward.

Penny’s Gift was a good sixth in the 1000 Guineas prior to making all in the German equivalent at Dusseldorf last time. Clearly a tough sort, but she needs to pull out more to get involved here.

Rainbow View was an outstanding juvenile filly of 2008, but things haven’t quite gone to plan this term. She didn’t get the rub of the green when third in Group One at Royal Ascot last time and she can’t be written off yet.
