Open The Betting
To be the first person to bet
Out-kicked
To lose a hand in a card game on the basis of your "kicker" card, e.g. a pair of aces with a 7 kicker is "out-kicked" by a pair of aces with a King kicker. For a description of what beats what at poker, see our sister site's guide to poker rules for beginners.
